It’s the final Sunday before Grey Cup!
Montreal at Hamilton
Montreal’s coming off of a 50 – 17 thumping of BC that cost Mike Benevides his job. Were they really that impressive or was BC simply that bad? I’m thinking the later. Hamilton meanwhile haven’t lost in their new digs. Look for a spirited performance from the Cats. Hamilton 22 Montreal 15
Edmonton at Calgary
It’s about the feet in this one. Or more specifically Mike Reilly’s (rumoured) broken foot. Reilly came off of the bench in the semi finals and lead Edmonton to a victory over Saskatchewan but he did it with virtually no mobility. If his health hasn’t improved it could be a long afternoon. Calgary meanwhile, are trying to exercise the demeans of Western Finals past where they’ve seen wonderful seasons come crashing to a halt in the biggest game of the year. A healthy Reilly would make the difference but it’s not going to happen this week. Calgary 25 Edmonton 18.
And Elsewhere??
The U of M bison are looking to advance to the Vanier Cup in Montreal this afternoon. With the Vanier in Montreal this year, Montreal is a motivated bunch. U of M is coming in after knocking off the perennial Canada West champs Dinos 27 – 15 last week. Here’s hoping some Manitoba team can make it to a national championship! Manitoba 30 Montreal 26
,,,,and of course they’s the Earl Dome. This year’s contest is centred around skill and intellect. So how can it be anything but….North 35 South 20
Cheers! Enjoy the weekend.
