Leaving from the City of Kenora
Manitoba Central, Saturday morning trail
Just one car and just 3 restless riders
Hope that this day, the Bombers just won’t fail
All along the westbound odyssey, the car flies by East Braintree
And rolls along past houses farms and fields
Passing lakes that have no name, a village full of older men
And gas stations serving empty automobiles
Good morning Winnipeg, how are you?
Say don’t you know us, we’re your football fans
On our way to cheer our Winnipeg Blue Bombers
We’ll be gone 500 miles when this trip is done
Talking football, with the old guy in the back seat
Who’ll score a point, and what will be the score
Pass the Tupperware that holds the munchies
Feel the wheels, rumblin’ ‘neath the floor
And fans who go a few times, and those who go a lot
Think that this year their team is the real deal
And Saturday the faith they’ll keep, hoping that Henry they’ll beat
And optimism and hope is all they feel
Good morning Winnipeg, how are you?
Say don’t you know us, we’re your football fans
On our way to cheer our Winnipeg Blue Bombers
We’ll be gone 500 miles when this trip is done
Next day, to the City of Kenora
Have to stop in Prawda for a pee
Halfway home, we’ll be there by lunchtime
Through the Manitoba morning, rolling back to the lake
Now all those years of losing seem to fade into a bad dream
Bombers playoff bound, now that’s breaking news
The driver sings this song again, the passengers ask, “please refrain”
This car’s got the disappearing Blue Bomber blues
Good night Winnipeg, how are you
So now you know us, we’re your football fans
Bomber fans from the City of Kenora
We’ll be gone 500 miles when this trip is done
