October 6, 2023 has been circled on the calendar by Bomber and Lion fans alike as the date that 1st in the West is decided. With the season series tied at 1-1 this game becomes the tie breaker. The winner will be two up on the loser, have the season series and need only a single victory or a single loss by the losing team to mathematically clinch first. Put the math aside though, the winner of this game will get first place.

Janarion Grant returns for the Bombers so he may spark a punt return game that’s been anemic since he left. Is it enough to lead the Bombers to victory? I don’t think so. With two road losses in a row against much weaker teams than the Lions, I think the trend is set. The Bombers are stating to struggle on the road. Hence the outcome of this game will be:

Lions 32 Bombers 28

Elsewhere let’s go with:

Edmonton (still fighting for a playoff spot) over Toronto (who are not)

Hamilton (with both Shiltz and Bo-Levi returning) over Saskatchewan

and;

Ottawa, finally getting a victory over Montreal
