“Roughriders Gonna Cry”
Sung to the tune of Ghost Riders in the Sky by Johnny Cash
A Roughrider came riding in one sunny windy day
Off to a field for football he went for game to play
When all at once a mighty team of Blue and Gold he saw
Onto the field that team did fly
A team without a flaw
Their defence was still on fire with a D-Line made of steel
On offence Andrew Harris, his hot breath he could feel
A bolt of fear went through him as Blue thundered through the sky
He foresaw the Riders falling hard
And he heard their mournful cries
Yippie-yi-o
Yippie-yi-yay
Rough Riders gonna cry
Their faces tense
Their eyes on fire, their jerseys soaked with sweat
Bombers playing hard to catch and they ain’t beat them yet
‘Cause they’re gonna win again today under the autumn sky
With Willie snorting fire
Bombers play those victory cries
As the Bombers rushed on by him he heard one call his name
‘If you want to save your soul from hell a-riding against our team
Then Rider change your ways today or else you’ll have to hide’
Trying to beat this Bombers’ team
Under these autumn skies
Yippie-yi-o
Yippie-yi-yay
Roughriders gonna cry
Roughriders gonna cry
Roughriders gonna cry
